Once again, ENEDI participated in the European Researchers’ Night, held on September 25th at the Muelle del Arenal in Bilbao. By joining this European scientific outreach initiative, the group shared its research focus—energy efficiency and sustainability in buildings—with the general public.

Organized by the EHU (University of the Basque Country), this event offers a firsthand look at the research conducted at the public university and how it helps address the challenges facing today’s society. Through educational activities and interactive displays, the event aims to bring research work closer to people of all ages, demonstrating its impact on everyday life.

The European Researchers’ Night also seeks to inspire an interest in scientific careers among younger generations, promote gender equality, and contribute to a more diverse and inclusive scientific community. The initiative is part of the European project G9EU4RESEARCH, led by the G9 Group of Universities and funded by the European Commission through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions under the Horizon Europe program.

At its stand, ENEDI showcased various technologies and approaches for improving energy efficiency in buildings. Attendees could discover how thermography helps identify thermal insulation issues, explore tools for monitoring building energy consumption via augmented reality, and learn about the potential of thermal energy storage using phase-change materials. Furthermore, the group provided educational activities designed to help people better understand energy demand and consumption in buildings, fostering greater awareness of the importance of energy efficiency.
